Welcome to Before the Pour!

We are a beer-loving, brewery-hopping couple who want to share our thoughts and opinions about the breweries and craft beer bars we travel to in Ontario.  Our objective is to help our readers find the beers and venues that are right for them.  We aren't experts in the field of beer; we're just average people who like trying new brews and sharing our experiences.  We hope that we can help you find what you're looking for!

Fernanda started loving beer a few years ago. This vice started with a dark lager from a craft brewery and from then on, the beer world became this big exciting place. She enjoys Sours and Saisons on hot summer days and Barley Wine, Stouts and (almost) anything with a high ABV. She is not a fan of anything too bitter but will drink light Pale Ales and IPAs.

Scott is newer to the beer scene, having been more partial to hard liquor until a couple of years ago.  It took him a while to get used to the different styles and flavours, but he soon became a big fan of IPAs.  He also enjoys a good, crisp Pilsner, and the occasional Stout—although only some.  While he isn't too high on Sours or Saisons, he always enjoys trying new things and is confident that he will someday find one that he likes.

Their tastes are different, they feel that this gives them an advantage when trying new venues, as together they are able to sample from all over the beer menu.  It is this experience that they wish to bring to you at Before the Pour: A Guide to Ontario Breweries and Craft Beer Bars!
